From secluded beaches to Odysseus’ home: A photo essay of the Ionian Islands

This is the Greece less traveled by – but not for long.

Greece’s Ionian Islands are composed of six main islands, each with its own character, history and way of life. Corfu, the capital, is today known for its maritime sports culture, while Paxos is dotted with virgin beaches waiting to be discovered. On Ithaca, we can walk in the footsteps of Odysseus, the protagonist of Homer’s Odyssey, and wonder how he might of felt after arriving here, his home, after being lost at sea.
